What’s new?

1. More current school information

Our U.S. Schools dataset, which now includes over 145,000 schools across the U.S., has been refreshed for the first time in 2026 to reflect the latest available information from this year, ensuring that school data aligns closely with current conditions.

This refresh helps ensure that school information remains timely and consistent across Local Logic products, including our Schools API, Local Content, and Location Reports.

2. Expanded school-level details

In addition to refreshed coverage, this update introduces a wider range of school attributes in the U.S., available via our Schools API. These attributes add important context beyond basic proximity, names, and addresses. 

New details now available include:

• School ratings
• Total enrollment, including male and female student breakdowns
• Student–teacher ratios
• Free and reduced lunch participation
• Charter, magnet, and advanced placement programs
• School contact information

Instead of just showing which schools are nearby, this update provides deeper insights into what each one actually offers.

3. School search by neighborhood or geography

It is also easier to explore schools based on a specific geography or neighborhood using our Schools API.

You can now retrieve schools within:

• A Local Logic-defined geography, such as a neighborhood, city, ZIP code, or county
• A surrounding area beyond those boundaries (up to 10 km or 6.2 miles), to include nearby schools

This unlocks broader ways to search, including queries such as:

• Elementary schools within Maricopa County, AZ
• High schools within 5 km of Victoria, BC

• Provide clearer educational context
• Support more informative consumer experiences
• Deliver consistent, data-backed school insights 

Enhancing our U.S. Schools data has been an important focus for our team. This update reinforces school context as a core part of understanding neighborhoods and reflects our commitment to helping teams deliver clearer, more trustworthy location insights at scale.
